Opening
Welcome to the unveiling of the final part of the project Crafted Landscape at Sør-Fron Youth School, Friday, June 9 at 1:00 p.m. Throughout the winter of 2023, 10th grade students have hand-forged elements at Tveit Smie in Hundorp, which have then been assembled into a wrought iron sculpture that forms the third and final part of the art installation at Glasmestermoen in the school’s outdoor area.
the project
This third and final art installation completes Crafted Landscape as a sculpture and building park, complementing the lath sculpture and drywall installation that the students built together with the local traditional craft companies Frya Stav og Laft and Gunnars Mur- og Graveservice. The installations are permanently installed in the school’s outdoor space, and are used, among other things, as an outdoor classroom and learning landscape. The sculptures also form a leisure area used by local residents and visitors to Fron Badeland and Sør-Fron cultural and sports facilities.
The project is funded by Sparebankstiftelsen DNB and KORO.

Crafted Landscape is a three-year collaborative project between Sør-Fron Youth School and Harpefoss Art Arena in the period 2020-2023, led and developed by artist and architect Ola Sendstad. The project is part of Sendstad’s practice at the intersection of art, crafts, cultural heritage thinking and place development.
